Evaluation Comments

What were the strengths of the course? What did you value most?

  • Helpful to share w/ others. I enjoyed the sincere comments from my peers.
  • The activity at the end was a great way to end the day.
  • I liked the activities.
  • Interaction.
  • Positivity and the exercises that allowed us to share with others.
  • Exercises – Group sessions
  • Energy of the trainer. Good exercises, lots of fun!!
  • Activities and stories.
  • I believe the strengths were all the cards we made. Rather than looking and receiving definitions – we as a group defined the words (meaning) ourselves.
  • I value the different take on what it is to be a leader. I love the focus on how to make people comfortable with each other.
  • The focus on positivity & giving it in order to receive it.
  • Joe's ability to lead us towards one another in how we lead instead of theory.
  • All of the energizers were activities I could bring back and use.
  • All the information, suggestions, practice and ice breakers were good!
  • Interactive discussions.
  • Demonstrations of practical ways to be positive leaders.

How could this course be improved?

  • Include more workday examples of these leadership styles in action and how to overcome resistance implementing them.
  • Provide this training to staff on leadership yearly – (vary in training issues).
  • Allowing more time for people's examples individually.
  • More time.
  • A little more time would have been good.
  • To short and basic, need more how too … & steps.
  • Longer.
  • In the beginning I was a little confused about the goal. Maybe more clarification showing what we are building or definitions.
  • Go more in depth on how to practice positivity in the workplace.
  • Should be taken by all HHSA staff.
  • Longer.
  • I liked it all.
  • A little more time.

How will you apply what you learned?

  • Focus on strengths of others.
  • I will consider using some of the handouts and activities.
  • With my staff.
  • At unit meetings.
  • At work and at home.
  • Using some handouts & materials.
  • Each day at work with students and co-workers. Also at home with child.
  • Through everyday interactions w/ staff, agency partners, and the community.
  • I will, along with my supervisors, use the tools provided to make our unit more of a team.
  • By being the change I want to see.
  • In my daily life as a leader at work and in my personal life where I also lead.
  • Take back the energizers.
  • Letting people take turns at meetings. Trying to be more positive.
  • Practice.
